No Black Friday Deals!
I know we all love a bargain but I’ve made the decision this year to not offer any promotions or discounts on Black Friday. As I am a one woman business I can’t hope to compete with the deals that the big retailers offer.
Many small businesses have been doing alternatives this year including things like planting trees, giving staff the day off (Hunt The Moon – love this idea!) and donating to charity (The British Craft House) instead of offering big deals.
There is also a growing movement called Colour Friday started by Not On The High Street founder Holly Tucker encouraging shoppers to buy from small businesses at Christmas.
So with all this is mind I have decided to donate to two local Taunton charities instead of offering any deals. This year I am going to support:
“Arc house, support and enable homeless people to maximise their potential. Working in Taunton, West Somerset and Sedgemoor. We strive for all homeless people to have a safe and supportive environment, where people can be inspired and empowered by their own strengths.”
I am sponsoring a festive hamper.
Christmas Sparkle Project
“The Christmas Sparkle Project is run by the community for the community. We work with local charities who support families in need. Our aim is to give a Christmas gift to every child aged 0-18 years living in difficult circumstances in the Taunton and Wellington community. We want to make every child’s Christmas Sparkle.”
I am donating a hamper of toys and gifts.
I will be having my annual Christmas sale over on Facebook on 19th December where you can definitely grab a bargain on last minute Christmas Gifts.
I also have a few bargains and offers available at:
- Seconds – a range of items with slight defects along with end of lines and prototype items.
- Bundles – buy in bulk and get a discount.
- Sale – a few items are reduced or on offer in this section.
